The BE-FS-A20 Automatic Film Sealer features an innovative rolling design that effectively prevents sample loss and cross-contamination. It is suitable for both conventional PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) and fluorescence qPCR (Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction) applications.

The instrument is easy to operate and offers four sealing modes:

 
  • Pressure-sensitive film
  • Adhesive film
  • 0.1 mL PCR 8-strip tubes
  • 0.2 mL PCR 8-strip tubes

Software parameters and rolling pressure can be adjusted with flexibility, allowing users to fine-tune sealing conditions based on experimental needs. The adjustable rolling frequency ensures compatibility with a variety of pressure-sensitive films, adhesive films, and PCR reaction plates from different manufacturers.

Operation Steps

1. Connect the power supply, turn on the instrument, and allow it to complete the automatic self-check.
2. After the self-check, the screen will display the main interface (mode selection screen).
3. Select the appropriate mode according to the sealing requirements:
  • PS Film (Pressure-Sensitive Film Mode)
  • Adhesive Film Mode
  • 0.1 mL Tube Mode (for 0.1 mL 8-strip tubes)
  • 0.2 mL Tube Mode (for 0.2 mL 8-strip tubes)
4. Place the corresponding adapter on the instrument (96-well plate adapter, 384-well plate adapter, or 8-strip tube adapter).
5. Tap the settings icon (upper right corner) to adjust rolling parameters.
6. Set the Rolling Times (1–99) and Rolling Pressure (1–3) as needed.
7. Click Save to return to the operation interface.
  • For pressure-sensitive or adhesive films: Prepare the sample in the PCR plate, apply the film, and place the plate onto the sealer ensuring proper alignment.
  • For 8-strip tubes: Place the sample-filled 8-strip tubes onto the corresponding film.
8. Press START. The instrument will automatically move into the working chamber and begin sealing based on the selected mode.
9. When sealing is complete, the instrument will automatically return to the loading position and display Finished.
10. Remove the sealed PCR plate or capped 8-strip tubes.

Note

If an incorrect operation or sample issue occurs, stop the process and remove the PCR plate. Press the Stop button to exit the working chamber safely.

Warning

Do not touch the PCR plate while the instrument is operating to avoid physical injury or sample loss.

The BE-FS-E30 Automatic Film Sealer utilizes a precision rolling mechanism to ensure safe, firm, and consistent sealing. This design not only simplifies operation but also eliminates issues commonly associated with traditional manual adhesive sealing. It effectively prevents sample loss, evaporation, and cross-contamination that may occur during PCR workflows. Additionally, the BE-FS-E30 enhances sample security during storage and transportation in microplates.

Compared with conventional heat-press sealing methods, the mechanical rolling approach prevents temperature-induced problems such as sample inactivation and volatilization, ultimately improving experimental accuracy and reliability.

Operation Steps

1. Connect the power cord and start the instrument. The system will perform an automatic self-check. During this process, the indicator light is red. When the self-check completes, the light turns yellow, indicating standby mode.
2. Prepare the sample in the PCR plate, apply the sealing film, and ensure it is flat and properly adhered.
3. Place the sealed PCR plate onto the film sealer, ensuring correct well alignment. Touch the activation switch to begin operation. The indicator light will turn flashing green, and the plate will move into the working chamber.
4. The instrument performs an initial pre-rolling step, followed by a second rolling pass after the plate partially exits the chamber. When the process is complete, the indicator light returns to yellow, indicating the sealing is finished.
5. Remove the fully sealed PCR plate.

Note

The purpose of the pre-rolling step is to quickly and evenly bond the sealing film to the plate, preventing warping or uneven edges that could compromise sealing quality.

If an operational error or sample issue occurs, stop the process and remove the PCR plate by touching the switch to retract it from the working chamber.

Do not touch or handle the PCR plate during operation to avoid personal injury or sample loss.

Operation Steps

1. Connect the power supply and turn on the power switch. The screen will illuminate, and the instrument will begin a self-check.
2. After the self-check is completed, the main interface (heat sealing interface) will be displayed.
3. Install the sealing film roll and set the appropriate film feed length.
4. Click the Set button to enter the temperature and time parameter settings screen. Adjust these parameters according to the requirements of the sealing film being used.
5. After setting the parameters, click Back to return to the heat-sealing interface.
6. Click the Heat button and wait for the heating block to reach the target temperature.
7. Place the appropriate adapter and plate onto the loading platform.
8. Once the actual temperature reaches the set point, the screen will indicate that the target temperature has been reached. Press the Start button, and the instrument will automatically complete the sealing process.
9. After sealing, the plate will automatically exit the machine.
10. Remove the sealed PCR plate or 96-well deep-well plate.

Note:

If an error occurs or the wrong sample/plate is placed, click the Stop button to halt the operation. The plate can then be safely removed.

Notes
 
  • Do not place any objects in front of the instrument’s door to avoid obstruction or impact when it opens.
  • Do not open the front door while the instrument is operating to avoid injury or mechanical interference.
  • If the instrument will not be used for an extended period, turn off the power switch and unplug the power cord.
  • Do not touch the heating block during operation or before it fully cools, as it may cause burns.
  • If the instrument malfunctions, disconnect the power plug immediately.
  • Do not pull or damage the power cord. Maintain proper electrical safety at all times.
